I was born in Korea and often had health issues growing up. After finishing college, I had an opportunity to travel to Uzbekistan with a non-profit organization called Food for the Hungry International and worked with children with disabilities for five years. Since hospitals were so far from where I would stay, I was recommended to learn Koryo Hand Acupuncture techniques for various conditions, such as stomach issues and muscle pains, so I did. In Uzbekistan, I used the Hand Acupuncture techniques frequently and was amazed at its effectiveness and wondered how it works. I began to develop a desire to learn Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have always wanted to help other people, and learning how to use TCM would be a great idea. After my time in Uzbekistan, I came to Canada and was finally able to pursue my dream of TCM. I have completed the 5-Year Doctor of TCM program at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver and practiced in Vancouver Downtown, Surrey and Langley for the last five years as a Registered Acupuncturist and herbalist. I have trained in modern techniques such as electro, scalp, ear, trigger-point and motor-point acupuncture and traditional techniques, including Balance and Master Tung Acupuncture. I also practice Cupping (Myofascial Decompression), Gua Sha (Myofascial Scraping) and Tuina (Acupressure and soft tissue release) for better results. I have a special interest and experience in aligning emotional and physical balance to bring holistic health to your life. I am looking forward to building new relationships in Abbotsford, where my home is now.
