Our Commitment

TCMThrive is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across our site. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continually work to improve the experience for all visitors.

What We Are Doing

We have implemented a number of measures to support accessible use of TCMThrive:

• Semantic HTML structure with appropriate landmark regions (main, nav, footer, etc.)
• Descriptive aria-label and alt attributes on interactive elements and images
• Keyboard navigability for all interactive components
• Skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users
• Colour contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimum requirements
• Responsive design that works across a range of screen sizes and orientations
• Focus indicators visible on interactive elements
• Reduced-motion support: animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query
• Language attribute set on the root HTML element (lang="en-CA")

Known Limitations

We are aware that some areas of the site may not yet fully meet our accessibility goals. In particular:

• Practitioner profile photos sourced from third-party websites may not always have descriptive alt text available.
• Some interactive map features may have limited screen reader support. We are working to improve this.
• Dynamic search results use live regions and are screen reader compatible, but performance may vary across assistive technology combinations.

Assistive Technology Support

TCMThrive is designed to work with modern assistive technologies including screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack), keyboard-only navigation, and browser zoom up to 200%.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may contact the BC Human Rights Commission or the Accessibility Standards Canada.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review our site against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria and use automated and manual testing to identify and address issues. This statement will be updated as we make improvements.
