Tessa Gelderman

Dr. Tessa Gelderman, ND is a board-certified naturopathic doctor who is deeply passionate about walking alongside her patients and supporting them in achieving their health goals. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Trinity Western University before completing her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.

Born and raised in Chilliwack, Dr. Gelderman grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains, which fostered her deep appreciation for nature and its role in health. She embraces an active lifestyle and believes that time spent outdoors is essential for both physical and mental well-being. This connection to the natural world has profoundly influenced her health philosophy, which centers around a balanced, grounded, and holistic approach to wellness.

Dr. Gelderman practices primary care naturopathic medicine, working with patients across a broad spectrum of clinical concerns including, but not limited to, women’s and men’s health, pediatrics, cardiovascular conditions, and gastrointestinal disease. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating cancer survivorship and screening, complex chronic disease, menopause, and mental health.

Each treatment plan Dr. Gelderman creates is thoughtfully tailored to the individual. Care may include laboratory testing, physical exams, cancer screening (such as PAP and prostate exams), nutritional and lifestyle counselling, botanical medicine, supplements, pharmaceutical prescriptions, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), depending on the unique needs and goals of each patient.

Note that Dr. Gelderman, ND can provide iron infusions for patients under her care and if deemed appropriate. Patients referred for iron infusions from another Restorative Health Naturopathic Doctor must book a Pre-Iron Screening appointment with Dr. Gelderman prior to booking an iron infusion. If you have been referred for an iron infusion by a healthcare provider outside of a Restorative Health ND, Dr. Gelderman required recent bloodwork and a consult note from your physician that indicates that they are aware and supportive of you receiving a private outpatient iron infusion. If no referral, please book as a new patient and options can be discussed.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Gelderman cherishes time with her friends and family, and has a deep love for the mountains, animals, and travel. You can ask her about which hike she did before she came in to clinic for the day!

She is in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia and holds certifications in prescriptive authority, IV therapy, acupuncture, and cosmetic neuromodulators.
