In addition to her extensive acupuncture training, Sami Reid is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, acquired in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It was there she began participating in a 9 year mentorship in Cacao Ceremony facilitation and has furthermore received a combined 350 hours of Thai Massage training through Lotus Palm in Montreal and Dr. Baan in Pai, Thailand. Her focus on somatic and emotional release is complemented by trauma-informed integrated practices aimed at activating the vagus nerve and inducing parasympathetic responses.
Her own complex health journey has fueled her passion for concussion care and reproductive health, particularly in conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and fertility issues. She also provides support for neurodivergent individuals and those struggling with PTSD. Prior to practice she spent the better part of 7 years teaching scuba diving across the world, and utilizes breathwork to help her patients dive deeper into their "acunaps". Her eclectic background converges to create a safe space for physical and emotional liberation, utilizing methodologies that address both corporeal tension and foster mind-body integration.
At the core of her practice, Sami Reid believes that our bodies tell a story, and she is here not only to listen but also to facilitate an integrated harmony between the mental, emotional, and physical body of her patients. Her approach emphasizes personalized care and empowerment, guiding individuals on their unique paths to wellness and resilience.
Sami Reid's exploration and deep immersion of various medicines has taken her on journeys spanning from Iceland to Australia and back, instilling in her a deep respect for cultural integration. It is with profound reverence that she now practices on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lekwungen peoples in Sidney, British Columbia.
