Michelle has a Masters degree in counselling and over 18 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. She is a client-centered therapist who is passionate about creating safe places for people to heal, explore and create lives that reflect their true values. In addition, Michelle is trained in: Solution-Oriented Therapy, Daring Way training (helps clients overcome shame and develop more courage and empathy with Brene Brown), Occupational Awareness Training: First Responders Level I and II, Options for Sexual Health CAVE (Comfort, Attitudes, Value Exploration). As a daughter of a first responder, Michelle has always felt compassion for people in distress. Having faced some unexpected twists and turns in her life, she understands the courage it takes to overcome life's challenges. Michelle is compassionate, creative and open-minded. She has a sense of humour that helps make the challenging journey of personal growth easier. Connecting with people and helping them navigate through life's obstacles lights Michelle up. She loves helping people tap into their potential and explore new paths through every stage of life. Michelle carefully creates safe spaces for people to face the areas of their lives in which they feel afraid, ashamed, stagnant or stuck. She works collaboratively with her clients to map out goals that will help them to take leaps, shed stories that no longer serve them, and attain a greater sense of balance in their lives. While she primarily engages clients through conversation, she also enjoys working with the elements of art and photography during her sessions with clients.
