Dr. Lorne Brown is the founder and clinical director of Acubalance Wellness Centre, the first Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic in British Columbia dedicated to reproductive health and fertility. After receiving his Dr. of Chinese Medicine at Vancouver’s International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lorne received extensive postgraduate training in gynecology, obstetrics, and reproductive medicine. Dr. Brown published the Acubalance Fertility Diet which is made available for free from the Acubalance website.
Internationally known for his pioneering work as an educator and advocate for integrated fertility care, Lorne was one of the first board certified fellows of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM). He also contributed greatly to the advancement of Reproductive Chinese Medicine in North America by founding ProDSeminars.com and Medigogy.com. Together, these two sites constitute the largest online source for continuing education and seminars on Chinese medicine for reproductive health. Lorne has a long-standing special interest in women’s health and fertility and is the Acupuncture expert advisor to IVF.ca : Canada’s premier online fertility community.
Lorne has presented at fertility conferences and meetings throughout North America, including the 2012 annual meeting of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOCG), and the Science Advisory Panel of Assisted Human Reproduction Canada (AHRC). He participates on numerous other boards and advisory panels as well, including the Quality Assurance Board of the British Columbia College of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture (CTCMA), and the PDA Advisory Panel for the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is also a member of the Fertile Souls Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals (CEFP) and was the first appointed “Natural Products Expert” to the Clinical Research Ethics Board (CREB) for the University of British Columbia.
