Acupuncturist and Somatic Educator
My personal approach to acupuncture has evolved over the years. I have discovered that I can use ultra thin needles, without any sensation and still get incredible results. Acupuncture does not need to hurt or cause any discomfort to be effective. I have been studying and applying techniques of Iyashi No Michi Japanese Acupuncture in this style of acupuncture is incredible. Because I can be so specific with point location, the needle doesn't need to produce sensation to be effective. Instead, the subconscious awareness of the needle within the body is enough to begin the cascade of healing. Also, I have discovered over the years that acupuncture needles do not need to be inserted deep to be effective. Instead, I just tap the needle through the skin, and that is usually enough. As well, I have realized over the years, that my presence in the room is of utmost importance to encourage healing. I remain in the treatment room the entire length of the appointment. I am there to help my patients through anything that comes up. I also incorporate cupping and gentle massage into treatments where a patient could find benefit. My gentle, hands-on approach, shallow insertion, and desire to be present during the entire session, is the perfect environment for your body to accept the guidance from the needles, and fall into a deep and profound state of healing. In the clinic room, I thoroughly enjoy helping everyone feel better. That said, I do have a strong affinity towards helping patients who suffer from internal health challenges. I love supporting women through all stages of life; teen, fertility, pregnancy, post-partum, menopause, and into the golden years. I love helping others overcome hormonal imbalances and improving gynaecological health. I also help client through issues such as anxiety, stress, exhaustion and other mental emotional issues; digestive health; autoimmunity; support during cancer treatment; blood sugar imbalances, and spiritual support, among others. Helping patients overcome chronic and acute pain has also been a passion of mine.
