My name is Jess (she/her), and I am a student counsellor completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.
It takes courage to seek support. It’s a journey that I feel privileged to be a part of. In our work together, I offer a warm, safe space for you to show up exactly as you are. My approach is grounded in compassion, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation. Together, we can explore how your thoughts, emotions, and body interact with one another, building awareness and skills for meeting life from a more centred place. We can also get curious about your history, relationships, communities, and broader contexts that shape your life, along with identifying your values and what feels meaningful to you.
My curiosity about the human experience and desire to support others began when I was a teenager volunteering locally and abroad. In 2007, I began studying Theravada Buddhism and exploring meditation, a practice that has supported me throughout the years and continues to inform my work. In 2011, I began practising as an RMT and noticed how people’s physical symptoms, emotions, and life circumstances were often connected. These experiences support me in showing up grounded, curious, and offering a compassionate presence to meet you with care.
