Jenica (she/her) is a Registered Acupuncturist who currently resides on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen-Speaking and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples in Victoria. Starting this September she is both excited and honoured to be providing care and treatment for those residing in and around the Cowichan Valley, on the lands of the Hul’q’umi’num Coast Salish Peoples. She is looking forward to exploring nearby forests, rivers, and mountains and is open to your favorite suggestions!
Jenica was born on the First Nation’s territory of the Gixtan and Wetʼsuwetʼen peoples, now known as Smithers and Hazelton in British Columbia. She is from the land of her ancestors -mainly the British Isles on her mothers side and Eastern Europe on her fathers side.
In her practice, she advocates for our innate individual and collective capacity for healing and sees her role as a facilitator to support the healing of her patients. Jenica values that each patient is an expert of their own experience, body, and needs and she strives to compassionately hold a non-judgemental space while working together with her patients to restore the internal organ systems and build upon the body’s inherent wisdom and capacity to heal.
In addition to her private practice, Jenica supervises acupuncture students studying at Pacific Rim College in Victoria and works as a clinical assistant for Alaine Duncan’s Tao of Trauma certification program. This year-long program integrates theoretical and clinical concepts from Western Neuroscience with the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine in support of treating trauma survivors.
