She previously provided professional clinical services at the Preventive Treatment of Disease Department of Beijing Gulou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She is currently based in Vancouver, Canada, where she practices as a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She is engaged in both teaching and clinical practice at the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada.
Dr. Nyiam holds licensure to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine in Malaysia, China, and Canada, and is an experienced cross-national practitioner in the field of Chinese medicine. She is fluent in Mandarin, English, Malay, Cantonese, and Hakka.
