Arica grew up in a typical Chinese-Hakka-Cantonese family and came to Canada after high school. She was naturally exposed to Traditional Chinese Medicine remedies at a young age. Kitchen cabinets stocked with various dried herbs, daily food cure dishes, chilled (in a well!) herbal jelly in the damp hot summer, and fire cupping or scraping modalities, all are fundamentals in her upbringing and wellbeing.
Arica was trained in Vancouver, Canada, graduated from the Registered TCM Practitioner program at the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2023, she obtained her Doctorate title, in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, from the renowned Five Branches University in California, USA.
Arica is keen to recreate the most authentic TCM healing journey, custom-tailored for every case, using various schools of Acupuncture applications, prescribing herbal compounds, performing adjunct therapies such as fire cupping or mobility cupping, using Sound and Vibrational systems such as the Tibetan singing bowls and Acutonic® forks. She is passionate about treating emotional imbalances, assisting life transitions and adaptation to grief or loss, treating sports and chronic injuries, various internal conditions, gynecological and fertility support, pre and post-surgery care, as well as general optimization of health.
Arica holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia, and a Post-graduate diploma (P.G.D. in Advanced Translation) from the Simon Fraser University. Therefore, her second greatest passion lies in translation of classical texts, be it medical, spiritual or poetic literature. She's fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
