Igor Kharif graduated with distinction as a physiotherapist in 2007. Since then, he has accumulated extensive experience in various private practices, specializing in treating musculoskeletal conditions and rehabilitating elite and recreational athletes. As a proud co-owner and principal partner of Coast Therapy, Igor has been instrumental in expanding the single clinic to six locations with over 75 practicing therapists.
Igor's postgraduate training includes over 50 courses and conferences related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy and health promotion. Notable achievements include certification in Acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and in IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) through the University of British Columbia. In May 2018, he completed his postgraduate Clinical Doctorate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (US). Additionally, in 2022, Igor received the prestigious Award of Excellence in Leadership from the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia.
Igor's current clinical interests and expertise include TMJ disorders (jaw and facial pain) and Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound. He teaches postgraduate courses in TMJ Rehabilitation and Spinal Manipulation and oversees in-house mentorship and professional development activities at Coast Therapy. For the past few years, Igor has been an examiner for new physiotherapists through UBC and has served on the CPTBC Professional Development advisory group.
In his spare time, Igor enjoys travelling, hiking, lifting weights, and engaging in various water-related activities.
